Student Assistance Program

Employee & Family Resources

Since the pandemic, Iowa youth have been wrestling with significantly higher rates of depression and anxiety. In 2021,

- Between 27% - 36% of students in Iowa (depending on the grade) reported feeling sad or hopeless almost every day for two weeks or more.
- One in four 11th graders in Iowa thought about suicide in the past year.
- About 44% of children nationwide experienced persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness. Nearly 20% had seriously considered attempting suicide.

A $50 gift provides one hour of counseling for a student through EFR's Student Assistance Program, offering guidance and support when they need it most.
